A Decent Meal!

Of course there is more than one reason why people don't eat better...much less organically!   Have you ever tried going to the grocery store and thinking..."ok only buy organic...only buy items in jars...only buy healthy..." I don't know about you, but we are~ not in a very big area , there are hardly such things!
In addition to availability is cost. If you can find it, get ready to dish out some 'green' to get it!
That is not all however, then there is preparation! After going through all of this, then you get the joy of trying to get your family to eat it:)
Take your average meal...Organic that is;. First after you drive 1 1/2 hours round trip to get the raw milk, bring it home and make it fit in the fridge...good luck. Then spend over 35 minutes taking all of the cream off of the top. Make that into butter. Keep some of the butter aside for ghee...make that. (Without burning it like I did today!) This is what you will fry the fish in, that your 15 year old daughter spent 4 hours trying to catch today. Also, you can fry the zucchini in it. This however is not organic because no organic was available so you peel it before slicing and frying.
Next if you have thought far enough ahead you have soaked your wheat grain that you freshly ground. Make this up, cheating with a few cups of white flour so it is edible though. Anyone have a good whole, whole wheat recipe??? Dont forget the local organic honey and fresh raw butter for the bread!
Now, you have been making the bean soup for 2 days. You began by soaking the beans and simmering grass fed , organic beef bones for an exceptionally healthy broth. (Thank you for those my dear Ann) Add beyond organic kale and spinach, throw in some (non) organic garlic, onion, tomato, and barley. Season with Himalayan salt of course. Top it off with forcing the chilren to drink either fresh buttermilk or kombucha or green tea with xylitol as the sweetener. Whew there you have it! The best I could do at my attempt for the one 'organic healthy meal' of the day.
And, the children ate it perfectly fine! Every bit of all of it was gone! Including the buttermilk! The kombucha on the other hand tends to be a problem. I think I need to take my friends advice and add fruit juice to it! Here is to healthier eating at least once a day! Bon Appetite!
