                              Creideamh

(pronounced 'kray-jif'), Gaelic for 'Faith'

We recently went to the Reformation Fair!!! It was so much fun!!! There were kilts everywhere!!! We also did a little dance demo out in the parking lot! We hadn't brought our music but there was a talented bagpiper there who played for us! I loved all the outfits I saw there that I thought I would share some pictures, enjoy!

Buffalo and Springfield will be the next demos! We hope to get some video this time!

We are gearing up for another dance demo on the 30th! We so love the dancing but it is a challenge to learn new dances! Mental blocks abound! I'm really excited as one of our dance teachers, Mrs. Purdom: has a book of Scottish dances for little children! Our littles love to dance and we are all looking forward to them doing this! It is a family tradition now and we are excited for our youngest children to participate in their heritage in this way! Thanks Mr&Mrs Purdom!!!

Mither and me bonny bairns:) Well 2 of them!
923Here is a link to the SCD named "Dominoes Five" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SE2oSfBCWw This isnt us, but it is the dance!!

We do SCD because our heritage is very important to us. We just happen to be fortunate enough to love our heritage and the many aspects of it! We look forward to incorporating our SCD into our schooling next year! Our theme for next year is 'The Scottish Covenanters. My dear friend loaned me her tapes from Vision Forum on them. It also happens to be that next year at the CHEF conference, their theme is the Scottish Covenanters! So I will have a lot of good excuses to do more geneology this year under the guise of school!
Sam the 'Great Scot!"
Abby & Susan-Montauk
Some of the Clan:) Clan Campbell that is!

Having class tonight!
Mr Purdom has been down for quite a while but he will be here tonight! Since he still can't really dance around much, I told him perhaps he should bring a hot shot to keep us in line or going the direction we need to be!! Either way we are glad to have him back finally! Were REALLY looking forward to him getting back into his ghillies! He is 'The Grand Ghillie Guy' after all!

Scottish Country Dancing

We are gearing up for our next SCD demo this weekend! The 4 balmoral hats are finished, the sporrans are repaired, shirts ironed and kilt pins in place! At the last minute we realized we 'lost'  Ella's scottish dress and shift so mom whipped one out last night with Charitys help! Thanks Charity!

So where could the dress have gone??? Machaira thinks we accidentally packed it up with the Civil War Reenacting things...quite possible! We are gearing up for that as well!

The CHEF Conference, as well as many reenactments are coming up. So we will no sooner hang up our ghillies (scottish leather dance shoe) and fall in with the troops there! My Singer will certainly be singing this month!

Wow! What a day! We did our SCD demo at Montauk State Park today! 700 folk/students from local towns and schools and homeschool families! We were certainly tired after such a long day but it was fun to meet some new folks and catch up on old friends! We're off to do it again tomorrow!

Hello all,
We are the Fyffes in San Antonio and are the family Roger and Meg mentioned. We must be long lost kin because your family seems to be interested in many of the same things we are. Love reading your blog. How did the detergent turn out?

HELLO FYFFE FAMILY!! Thanks for visiting our blog! So nice to meet new people! The detergent has been GREAT! It works really well! I wash most laundry in warm, but a friend tells me it works well in cold as well. Every 2 weeks I run a 'clean basket' cycle, as a friend suggested. Did I mention I add lavender essential oil for scent? We would love to hear more about our common interests! Email any time! keetsrus@yahoo.com Blessings! Dana for the Clan
