  We had a fun day doing our Scottish Country Dancing today!

  The honored clan this year was ours! Clan Campbell! 

  It was very hot at 96 degrees. The Highland cattle looked very hot too! 

 

Tartan Day!

Ok so my post is a couple of days late! We had a great time on Tartan Day!
We did a dance demonstration in St Charles and danced on the main stage. We had a great time but the wind was awful!
Tartan Days celebration is always such a fun event! We love seeing our friends and making new ones!

Houston we have a problem:)

  We have become aware of a problem among young men. We aren't sure what the problem stems from...perhaps they are not secure in their 'manliness'. Well whatever the cause; we wanted to bring your attention to the problem and also the solution;

  Authentic kilts are VERY pricey, sport kilts are very reasonable! So even if you plan to get an authentic kilt 'someday' you can easily afford a sport kilt right now!

Dancing our ghillies off!

 A ghillie is of course an Irish or Scottish dance shoe. They look like this;

They normally come in black but Ive seen them in tan...mine! LOL! By the time this evening comes our family will have danced 6 of the last 7 day! We've had lots of practices, a demo and last night attended a Scottish Ball ! We have really been having a lot of fun!

I have come to believe that SCD is far more profitable than just exercise, because dancing; you get more exercise than you want yet you are learning an art at the same time. As well, for us it is a way to celebrate our heritage! It takes a LOT of stamina to dance certain dances, especially when they last for several minutes. So the next time you want to get in shape, try out some SCD! I always say it but I hope to get some video this year! Patient people keep asking! Sorry I'm so slow and thanks so much for
