Please pray for our missionary friends....

Please pray for our friends who are missionaries...here is the letter we received~
Dear friends and family,

Our shipping container that we shipped before we left the United States in
January has still not arrived here.
I reviewing many websites, it appears that the ship that it carrying it, may
have been stuck at sea for over a month.
We are now starting to run into some serious complications because of this
delay.
I received an email today from our receiving agent that since it did not
arrive within 90 days from the time we arrived, it could no longer be
tax-exempt. We will have to travel to Dar and request an exemption. This
will add to our expenses, and we need prayer that the extension will be
given to us.
Also we have been told that if it does not arrive within 6 months from the
time that our permit was issued (December) it will not be exempt.
That time is coming up on us quickly also.

PLEASE join us in prayer and share this with others including your church,
as you feel impressed. We really need prayers to open the doors for this
container to arrive in port, for us to be granted all the exemptions,
extension, etc. Please pray that the ship that it is currently on will
arrive in port very soon, and that it will make its last ship journey
without any more interruptions. The trip that normally takes less than two
weeks from South Africa to Tanzania is now over a month long. There are
strange things going on, and we need God to intervene. As we pray God's can
work in our behalf. Please pray with us. THANK YOU!
Also please pray that nothing has been damaged, stolen or lost and that we
will not have any extra fees.

Mens Advance...!!!

Heroes.
The word has many connotations in today’s culture.
A hero may be the guy who makes $12,000,000 a year, achieves a 100% *perfect* voting record, or attracts the opening weekend crowd, breaking the record for highest grossing film. Or maybe he designs the latest technological break through, changing the world as we know it!
Perhaps he can only leap tall buildings in a single bound.
Christian heroes, on the other hand, may or may not have made the latest newsfeed.
The Vision
Throughout the history of Christ’s church, a multitude of godly men have endeavored to obey the call of God, despite considerable risk and personal sacrifice. This great cloud of witnesses, these heroes, encourage us as we walk by faith in the 21st century.
Our heroes should have integrity, a passion for truth, and godly character.
Our heroes should challenge us to stand firm in adversity.
Our heroes should inspire us and our families with vision and hope.
We are to honor the work of God through these individuals of the past: ordinary men who were called by the Lord to do extraordinary things.
And we must tell these stories to our children.
2012 Men’s Leadership Advance
This is the vision you will find at the Men’s Advance: passion to educate and encourage Christian men to fulfill their God-given calling. The time is ripe. We must be about the business of teaching our children the stories of great heroes of the past in order to prepare them to serve as leaders within Christ’s church in the days ahead.
Join us February 10-11 in St. Louis, Missouri. Experience the weekend with other men, both young and old, as we learn together of the Providences of God in history!
Speakers
Pastors and historians, Dr. Joseph Morecraft III and Dr. Marcus Serven, will set forth the biblical imperative on the subject of godly heroes and why we must tell their stories to the next generation!

People are divided over Divided! (As posted on THC)

It is interesting how divided many folks are over the movie Divided.
Because everyone looks at things according to their world view, preferences and circumstances; many different people will view the same message a different way.
When it comes to the movie Divided, first of all it contained most of my favorite speakers. Scott Brown, Kevin Swanson, Voddie Baucham, Doug Phillips and the great Paul Washer. As well, it was directed by a young person (likely a homeschooler) and we always want to encourage young people to do great things...
As well, we agree with the message they are discussing. What exactly did I 'walk away with' from this movie? I'll tell you; it was 'The Lord has commanded Fathers to disciple their children'....that was the message I came away with...others came away with 'Youth groups are bad', others came away with 'Ok youth group is unprofitable but what should we do instead.' Some folks agreed with the message yet felt like it didn't give the 'alternative' to youth group. And on and on and on.
If you go to the movie 'Divided' and read the comments, you will see some very harsh and uncharitable words spoken by some who think the movie is 'garbage'. Doesn't that seem a bit harsh? Regardless of whether or not you agree with the movie, the producers are sharing their hearts. You don't have to like it or agree with it yet...we are all called by Christ to be characterized by certain behaviours...and mean spiritedness is not one of them.
So, whether you agree with the message of Divided as I do, or not like some others, it would behoove us all to remember that we are called to unity. We are not all in the same place in our walk with the Lord...but wherever we are in our journey as sojourners on this earth, we ARE called to act like brethren and be charitable.
May the Lord give us all the grace to be so.

Divided...indeed!

Divided

I thought it would be nice for folks to comment here on our blog in regards to their thoughts on the movie Divided...WELL....I think it would be much MORE profitable if folks went directly to the website, scrolled down to the comments page and left their thoughts there....let me explain.
I remember hearing Geoffery Botkin speak on a topic he shared at the Sufficiency of Scripture conference. At one point he was appealing to people and explaining that "We are fragile people. My children are fragile"...what he meant by this is that...they are humans! Encouragement is a blessing and criticism stings.
I believe that it is our duty as brothers and sister in Christ to get behind these bold men who proclaim truth in this perverse generation! So, if you feel so led, I would encourage you to go to the Divided movie website and encourage/comment to all of the folks who had a part in the movie, others who will be edified by reading it, and encourage those who agree with the biblical principles spoken forth in the movie...Let your voice be heard. Uphold these godly men as they speak forth the truth .http://dividedthemovie.com/

Divided

Divided

Wow! In my inbox for about 3 weeks has been an email reminding me to watch the movie Divided. With a little encouragement from Beecher (thank you Beecher!), I finally watched it today! Let me say it again...wow! First of all, many of my personal favorites were part of this production; Scott Brown, Voddie Baucham, Doug Phillips, Kevin Swanson, Paul Washer.... There was nothing in this movie that I didn't already know, or believe or understand but to see it all 'together' in one place, so eloquently defined and discussed was powerful.
One minute your heart is breaking over the condition of the youth in church and the next minute your  heart is soaring because you see the key to the hope of the future. It all comes down to home-discipleship.
I am soo grateful for all of these godly men, and my husband and other men, most who aren't in front of a camera but are obeying Christ faithfully in their homes...daily discipling and reforming their own hearts, their families, and bringing it into their own churches on Sunday.
PLEASE do our generation a favor and watch this movie if you haven't already! Why did I wait so long???
