A socialist says: You have plenty you should share, and if you dont Ill take it.
Sharing, is when you freely choose to give what you have to another.
Children are born socialists...Please train them NOT to be for the sake of our future:)
An easy job? Not at all...but with God all things are possible!

Todd Akin for Senate

Friend,

If you're up at this hour or you're reading this early Wednesday morning, now you know: the deadline passed, I'm not dropping out, and we're in this race to win.

With your help, we stood up to the DC party bosses. We're ahead in the polls. Conservative leaders are stepping up to help.

In short, momentum is on our side, and now it's time to move beyond the distractions the party bosses have caused, and focus on defeating Claire McCaskill!

Chip in today and help us take back the U.S. Senate from Claire and her liberal allies.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Todd

Go Todd!!

Newspaper gleanings.....

Akin and McCaskill have different ideas on how the nation should be run.
No two people are more different than Claire McCaskill and Akin." He voted 30 times to repeal Obamacare, and if McCaskill had not voted for Obamacare, we would not have Obamacare today. McCaskill is attempting to paint herself as being a "moderate Senator." Why? Missouri is conservative.Akin has an A rating from the National Right to Life organization, McCaskill's rating was an F from the same group.Akin is Pro-Life and Claire McCaskill is the opposite.
The record speaks for itself.

McCaskill and Money

Todd Akin for Senate
Friend,

It took 227 years for our country to accumulate its first $7 trillion in debt. It took Claire McCaskill less than 6 years to help ring up $7 trillion more.

We’ve spent the past week being attacked by the DC Party Bosses, with some going so far as spending money to try and hurt our campaign. Meanwhile, Claire McCaskill, the $7 Trillion Senator, is flooding Missouri airwaves with negative ads that distort my own record, and don’t tell the whole story about her own.

Let’s put the $7 Trillion in new debt under McCaskill in perspective:
  • The total economic power of Missouri would have to be completely donated to the federal government for 27.5 years to pay for the debt she has rung up.
  • $6.9 trillion is equivalent to every citizen in Missouri being $1.1 million in debt.
  • Every Missouri citizen would have to give every dollar of their personal income (pre-tax) to the federal government for the next 30 years to pay $6.9 trillion in debt.
  • Its $22,000 in new debt for every man, woman and child in America in less than 6 years.
  • There are just under 7 billion people in the world. $6.9 trillion would mean every person in the whole world paying $1,000.
It is beyond irresponsible to saddle future generations with today’s spending – it’s downright unpatriotic.

Sincerely,

Todd

A funny.....

Our children mimic us don't they? Well today, when the 3 year old got out her computer (toy) she said "Oh no mommy! Where are my glasses I cant see like a bird!"....after wondering for a minute I realized that she was saying what I always say when I sit down at the computer...."Where are my glasses? I'm as blind as a bat!". She had it close!

We interrupt this campaign....

To remember Michael, who is Forever in the arms of Grace.....we remember and will not forget.

WERE DONE!

Friend,

Party boss and Washington insider John Cornyn today had two words for Todd Akin, and Missouri: “We’re done.”

Rather than swallowing their pride and admitting they were wrong to not help Todd Akin, Party Bosses are doubling down.

Mike Huckabee, on the other hand, had this to say about the Washington Party Bosses:
“They will turn their backs on Akin out of their arrogant pride because just as they were wrong about Rand Paul and Marco Rubio, they are being shown they are wrong on Akin? We need to rally every pro-life, pro-family, faith-based voter in America and tell them that the party obviously doesn't need them, but Akin does. If the party doesn't want us, then it's good to get that cleared up. I'll direct my time, money, and efforts toward candidates who will take a stand, and when they get elected, they won't be obligated to party bosses, but to God and their conscience.”

Today, we are starting our most ambitious fundraising goal yet: $70,000 raised by Saturday midnight to defeat the “$7 Trillion Dollar Senator” Claire McCaskill.

We need all hands on deck. Todd needs you now. Mike Huckabee needs you now, and like Governor Huckabee said – the Washington insiders and Party Bosses were wrong about Rubio, wrong about Rand Paul, and they’re just as wrong about Todd Akin.

If the Party Bosses are done with Missouri, then guess what? We are DONE with the Washington establishment!

Our Moneybomb begins today. $70,000 by midnight Saturday.

Will you stand with Todd Akin? Or will you let the Washington Party Bosses and Claire McCaskill win?

Power of the Cross

Reality Check....

It is astonishing
(Gleanings from the Inner Life of Ruth Bryan)

It is astonishing that such a worm should be
so favored with discoveries of His beauty--whom
glorified saints and angels gaze with ineffable
delight. But, after all, I know not a thousandth
part of what He is, and what I have in Him.

Surely Christ is all!

How little, how verily nothing, am I.

Oh! that my lips, my life, and every action--
might speak His praise and glorify His name,
who is a Heaven to me!

The Adams Clan Adventures....

I wish I would carry a video camera with us where ever we go. We do so many exciting things as a family!
For instance, just this weekend we spent all of Saturday with Congressman Akin and his lovely wife Lulli and got to meet and visit with the Duggar family. How many folks spend their afternoon doing that? (By the way Michelle Duggar is every bit of the sweet gem that folks say she is!)
I just stand amazed at all of the situations and circumstances we find ourselves in that we could never plan to have happen even if we wanted to!
So, the other day, in visiting with my dear friend, we were talking about socialization. She sends her kids to public school. That is fine but I had to say,
"Your kids dont get much socialization...they spend all of their time in the same place every day...they dont get out much you know.."
You couldnt believe the look of absolute astonishment on her dear face when I said that. I kinda turned the tables I guess! Isnt it true though? Our kids arent limited to the same 4 walls and same folks every day. They get around! Not that I believe in the 'socialization' argument but it was funny to use 'their' words back on them.
Actually when folks say to Brett "What about socialization?", he loves to say "Oh yeah, we arent socialists"....? LOL!
Just wanted to share our adventures and laughs with you all! May the Lord give you grace to disciple your children today!

Todd Akin for US Senate

Akin Statement on August Jobs Report

St. Louis, MO: This morning Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO) released the following statement regarding the August jobs report which showed that unemployment remains at 8.1% after almost four years of the failed economic policies of Barack Obama and Claire McCaskill:

"Americans continue to suffer economic hardship because of this administration's maniacal quest to return to the failed policies of the past that trap too many Americans in poverty. This morning the verdict is in: Americans are simply worse off today than they were four years ago.

"Claire McCaskill and Barack Obama have been making empty promises for nearly four years now and this morning's job numbers only confirm how empty their promises are. McCaskill and Obama promised that their stimulus bill would get the economy going again to create jobs, but instead unemployment has remained above 8% for the forty-third month in a row. Instead of creating jobs, the failed stimulus bill which McCaskill voted for and I voted against, has saddled our children and grandchildren with another $800 billion in debt bringing the nation's total debt obligation to over $16 trillion dollars.

"McCaskill and Obama continue to lead this country in the wrong direction. Their policies have driven up our national debt by 50%, the poverty rate up 10% and have left twenty-three million Americans across our country unemployed and underemployed. This election is not about fancy words and empty promises, this election is about the failed record of McCaskill and Obama. The unemployed and underemployed citizens of Missouri cannot afford another term of Claire McCaskill's failed economic policies."

A day in homeschooling.....

We got started a bit late this morning! What makes it late? Hmm, my expectations I guess! There is, after all, no homeschool rule that says we have to start at 8!
So we had a great day of getting work done, reading things I had planned and accomplishing other 'book' goals. Arent those days rare but fulfilling? So by the end of the day, the pastors wife stopped by and I had a nice visit. So, a good day of school AND adult interaction...all in the same day!
As she left I went to sit on the couch and finish up some record keeping....the 'littles' (3,5,7,11) suddenly came filing out of one room, arms loaded with toys and headed to another room. There they were....one with hair totally unbrushed~for 2 days it appears, one with a shirt on inside out, the next was so busy holding up his 'baggy' pants that he could barely keep his toys in his arms, and the 11 year old was wearing a sweater and a pair of shorts.........?
Well so much for all of my accomplishments for the day! It appears that in my zeal to accomplish the 'big' things, that I left the 'little' things undone! Well at least I did the important things, right? Spend time with the children, be it perfect/peaceful time or not, and we did bible which...if I do nothing else in a day, I hope to do that. This is the one subject that will have eternal value!
There is a lesson in there somewhere. He who is faithful in a little will be faithful in much...So it would seem I was not faithful in a 'little'...or was I ? I guess it is all where we put our priorities!
