Hey everybody!! I know its been a bit since we posted.....thats because we've been gone since Wed. and just got back last night! We went to KC and stayed with some friends Wed. night and then we all headed to the reenactment....it was awesome!! Malachi got to fight in all the battles and Michael was the flag bearer for them! They just had too much fun :) Once when the yankee cav tried to raid our camp, all of our guys were in the middle of a meeting and they all jumped up, grabbed their guns, and went for the yanks on foot! It was quite a sight to see!!! It was also quite hilarious and a memory because 2 years ago at that same reenactment, the yankee cav tried to raid and the elliott sprouts (our group is the elliott scouts and the boys that are too young to fight with them yet are part of our group that we call the elliott sprouts, its so cute watching them drill :)) were in the middle of drilling in the field and they chased them off and were shooting at them with their wooden guns...one of the yanks even fell off his horse to give it dramatic effect and the sprouts chased those yanks all the way back to Kansas where they belong!! lol :) Great memories. Anyhow, we packed up and left Iowa on Sunday, went back to KC, stayed sunday night, the guys spent most of the day monday fixing our broken down van (which had broken down numerous times on the way up there) and then in the evening we had a labor day/birthday party for Mr. Pelis (the fam we were staying with), stayed monday night, and left Tuesday and got home last night!!! WOW......busy as bees we are.
Ok i'll quit talking now and go clean up the house, Have
a great day!
In Christ Alone, Abby :)

You must be Brett and Dana's daughter. I like the exciting way in which you wrote! You should tell people at the beginning what kind of re-enactment it was. I'm assuming it was the Revolutionary War, since you're talking about yanks. I'm sorry your van broke down. What's a long car drive without a broken-down car? Great way to learn to rely on God, I suppose. Glad you're back safely.
Hi Susan! It is civil war reenacting. Have you checked out that page yet? Thanks for visiting! A joy to see you 'around' again after your summer break! Blessings, Dana
Looks like y'all had fun! I love reenacting! (Even though our family doesn't get to do it that often) :)
Blessings!
Markie
Glad you made it back safely!
Yeah it was Markie! That would be so cool if y'all could come to one with us sometime! Have a great day! :D

Sounds really fun! Do you think y'all will be at the reenactment in Mexico, MO, September 23-25? We're thinking about going to that one. It looks like they have lots of interesting things planned.
Not wanting to speak for the Adams, but I think they are planned for Herman MO that weekend. The Alders will be at Mexico though. (Please tell me I'm right :-)) I will be at Herman with the Littmanns...Sons of Georgia...you know...
Samuel
Hi Abriana! It looks like we will be in Herman that weekend! Hope to see you all soon! Mrs. Adams
Right you are uncle Sam! See you there! The Adlers wont be at Herman? Boy we keep missing them! God bless! Mrs. A
Whoo, I thought I stuck my foot in my mouth there! Glad I was right for once....it doesn't happen often!
Well, if one is close enough for us, hopefully we'll see y'all there!!:)
Markie
Haha wow Sam, you sound like me...! Thats sad about the Adlers :( i think we'll see them at Lexington tho...are you guys going to that one?
*sob* *wail* Nope. We are going to pick weeds at our house, because we are having company that night. Wish we were though!
After I commented, I realized that you only do Civil War Re-enactments, and I felt stupid, because that's one of the main topics of your blog. Yes, I saw all the wonderful pictures. I absolutely love the costumes!!
That is funny! Not a problem!
