I guess I should add, that we are a pretty good mixture of both!
I can't seem to get your poll to work either. We do have a schedule of what we work on each day, but I do allow some flexibility as to what we do first and when we start. We don't use a clock and time things. We do work 'til we are done and occasionally take an unplanned day off to hang out with daddy on his day off. We are definitely a mix of both structured and flexible, but I am still in charge guiding the process. :-)
Thanks for sharing Snoopygirl! Blessings~

A mixture of both.=)
Hi Dana!
We probably should be using the term home-discipling rather than homeschooling. I'm going to use it more often!! For our family it really is about discipleship and training rather than academics. If we ended up with children who attended Harvard but were not believers who walked with Christ, we would have failed completely. Our goal for our children is that they would come to love the Lord Jesus with all their hearts, that they would be well established in a Christian worldview, that they would be able to enter into the culture as young men who are able to offer Christ to our lost and dying world in a very effective way. We believe in sheltering and protecting our children until they are prepared to be used as soldiers for the Lord in a lost world. We feel that God has called parents to be "gate-keepers" and are careful about what is allowed into our children's lives. This is such a good subject. I'll think about it more and post my thoughts more thoroughly. Blessings to you as you disciple your children.

Amen to that Anne! Im looking forward to you sharing more here! Thank you! Blessings~

We are a mixture. For us, it just works better that way with the littles. I have a basic routine and a daily plan (written down) of what I'd like us to accomplish each day, but not a strict schedule of what time to do what for exactly how long. And sometimes heart issues surface, and those are far more important to deal with even if they weren't in my planner. :)
That sounds like a fantastic balance, and I 'heartily' agree about heart issues being more important to deal with! Thanks for adding to the discussion! Blessings, Dana
