Fleeting childhood
I do want my children to have a happy childhood! So many children do not, not in this present day nor in days gone by! I think as parents we can 'train children up in the way they should go' so that they may enjoy a happy adulthood as well:)
I love this posting and agree with you completely ~ the one thing we wanted was for our children to grow up knowing they were loved, it's far more than we had when we were children.
We tried to accomplish this through treating them with love & respect. Of course this didn't mean they always got what they wanted and when we disciplined them it was out of love, not ego or personal emotion.
I'm happy to say that our children show us everyday, through their lives and their actions, that we succeeded and we couldn't be happier for them. ♥Sharon
Very well said! Love, respect and discipline. We are also big on 'joy'. There is enough unpleasantness in the world that we encourage our children to be joyful and just plain happy! Blessings~Dana
