McCaskill and Money

Todd Akin for Senate
Friend,

It took 227 years for our country to accumulate its first $7 trillion in debt. It took Claire McCaskill less than 6 years to help ring up $7 trillion more.

We’ve spent the past week being attacked by the DC Party Bosses, with some going so far as spending money to try and hurt our campaign. Meanwhile, Claire McCaskill, the $7 Trillion Senator, is flooding Missouri airwaves with negative ads that distort my own record, and don’t tell the whole story about her own.

Let’s put the $7 Trillion in new debt under McCaskill in perspective:
  • The total economic power of Missouri would have to be completely donated to the federal government for 27.5 years to pay for the debt she has rung up.
  • $6.9 trillion is equivalent to every citizen in Missouri being $1.1 million in debt.
  • Every Missouri citizen would have to give every dollar of their personal income (pre-tax) to the federal government for the next 30 years to pay $6.9 trillion in debt.
  • Its $22,000 in new debt for every man, woman and child in America in less than 6 years.
  • There are just under 7 billion people in the world. $6.9 trillion would mean every person in the whole world paying $1,000.
It is beyond irresponsible to saddle future generations with today’s spending – it’s downright unpatriotic.

Sincerely,

Todd
