Crash recovery...

Brett and Dana Adams

Crash recovery....! Update on Dana

No thankfully not a car crash! I knew I was slowing down and getting slower and slower...
Proverbs 16:9 says "In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps."
Well the adrenal crash was inevitable! So now it seems as though the Lord determines that I recover. A road which I am now embarking on!
When I tell a 'regular' dr. "Im so run down and tired and anxious" they inevitably laugh at me and ask what I thought would happen when I decided to have 11 children and homeschool! The 'mainline' medical route being inefficient, I have now had to persue other means of restoration for my health!
As well, in a well ordered, peaceful home where Christ is Lord, 11 children do not have to be the 'cause' of a OAT axis imbalance!:) Not that things are always well ordered or peaceful here:) But an internal chemical imbalance is the issue not my children:)
All that to say that I have missed visiting and posting here on our blog and on THC! I just 'rose' from a 5 day bed rest and am not sure how much I will have to offer in the near future!
I do pray that your homeschooling and life adventures are enjoyable, and that the Lord is blessing your sacrifice to your children!
Brett and I continue to pray diligently for all of our 'friends' on THC. I would love to hear how everyone is doing!
  Blessings and peace!

Too busy to.....

It appears to some that I have fallen off of the face of the...internet:) We have been quite busy and blessed of late for which I am truly thankful. Alas something always has to give somewhere and the internet is the first to get neglected I am afraid!
So I find myself too busy to blog because Im too busy doing...what I often blog about! Discipling, showing hospitality to the saints, schooling, 'wifing' (is that a word?) Mostly being a mom though!
At this time of  year most of us are 'in a slump'...I on the other hand find myself HIGHLY motivated at this time of year! Right now, the few precious weeks before reenacting and dance demos begin; is the last chance for me to accomplish all of those lofty goals I set at the beginning of the year! Or at least a few of them!
Another thing I am HIGHLY motivated to do at this time, before I go out into the real world with the small children...is scrutinize closely what (all ages) of kids are doing or not doing that may not be pleasing or advantageous to us as a busy family or the Lord for His kingdom.
Yes I should be attentive and motivated all year long I realize, but alas I must confess that I am not. I am thankful that I am at least during this time though! Amazingly I find that every single on of the children have some are that they need to work on! So busy busy busy, mentally more than physically sometimes. It takes time to talk to them and train them and look 'em in the eye....
So pray us luck as we bring our last few months of schooling to a close and eternal discipline to a beginning!
Blessings!

Politically Incorrect....

I saw on a blog the other day where a gal said, "The fastest way to start an argument is to have an opinion, voice it , and wait". Isnt that the truth? Do we forget the freedom we have in Christ and the freedom we share as Americans? (for now anyways). It has become politically incorrect to 'endorse' a candidate openly. Really? Since when? Well, my first loyalty is to Christ, there is not a hill worth dying on which is not based on Him and His word...but as long as I have this freedom in Christ, and as long as this is still America, and I am still an American, I will;
1. Have an opinion
2. Voice it
3. Be persecuted for it.
That all being said; Im just gonna say it

Home Trials...

JC Ryle says;
The plain truth is, that home trials are one of
the many means by which God sanctifies and
purifies His believing people.

These trials are spiritual medicines, which
poor fallen human nature absolutely needs.

By them He keeps us humble.

By them He draws us to Himself.

By them He sends us to our Bibles.

By them He teaches us to pray.

By them He shows us our need of Christ.

By them He weans us from the world.

By them He prepares us for "a city which
has foundations," in which there will be
no disappointments, no tears, and no sin...(end excerpt)
I do not automatically think 'This trial is for my good', but I have learned to do that very soon after I become vexed by a trial in our lives. It REALLY is for our good. Our eternal good and Gods glory. We dont have to understand it. It is just so.
It is often difficult to know what to say to folks who are going thru trying times. But, not yet having the mind of Christ , we dont need to know. Often if we just offer to pray for people they will know that we care. And, who better to go to with petitions for help for a person than the Lord?
If they dont 'have the answer' they dont expect that you do. Acutally it is rather dangerous and prideful to think that we "know why' something or other is occurring in someones life.
So as way of encouragement, if you are going through a trial in  your life, strive to remember that The Lord loves you and means it only for your good and His glory. I dont understand it, but I trust that it is so.
May the Lord be your ever present help in time of need. Blessings~
